    Detention times have been doubled for students who have not attended their assigned times.


    MENU change for today...the Greenbush site will be having a menu change.  

    We will be serving : Hamburger on a bun, Cheese Slice, Baked Beans, Potato Chips, Fruit


    ACTIVITIES FOR TODAY, MONDAY, OCTOBER 16TH

    *Attention Wrestlers and Managers...We will be having a meeting at noon in the wrestling room.

    *Math League practice, 3:15-4:30.

    *JH football vs Warroad at Badger.  The 7th will play at 4:30 followed by the 8th at 5:30.  Ride Robert T’s practice bus.

    *NO Play practice today.

    *Parent Teacher Conferences, 3:30-7:30.

    *Para meeting in the library, 3:30-5:30.

    *NO JV/V volleyball practice today

    *Black/Green volleyball wrap-up party today in GB


    ACTIVITIES FOR TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17TH

    *Jazz Band rehearsal, 7:45-8:15.

    *Picture Retakes in MR at 8:30 and GB about 9:30.  The following are on the GB list for retakes...Pre School, Maddy B, Keaton B, Hanna B, Brooklyn W, Brooklyn M, Evan B, Bree-Anna N-P, Sierra L, Olivia B, Ella K and Mrs. Laura Dahl.  Others???

    *The following students will be attending the BSU Math Contest.  We will be leaving at 7:30am and returning around 3:00... Breydon B, Makenna B, Dylan H, Robert H, Kianna N, Kyle Stenberg, Jake T, Shaun W, Brandon S, Emily T, Travis G, Aubre B, Lexie B, Jacob B, Aaliyah C, Andy D, Zach Evans, Jamee F, Ryan H, McKayla H, Ella K, Agracia M, Anissah N, BreeAnna Novacek-Pratt, John N, Piper S, Sarah S, Alyssa W, Abbie Wagner, Christian W, Bryton W, and Kally W.

    *Robotics to EGF Sacred Heart.  Those going are Emily T, Cammi, John P, Kyle S, Kristy W, and Isabella.  You will leave at 8:30 and return by 3:30.

    *Elementary Concert in GB, 10:00.

    *Elementary Concert in MR, 2:00.

    *DETENTION in Mr. Stanelle’s room, 3:10-4:10.

    *Swimming at I’ntl Falls, 4:30.

    *JV volleyball at Karlstad Heritage.  The bus will leave Badger at 3:20 and GB at 3:35.

    *Play practice - Act II on the stage, SET-UP LIGHTS, SOUND CHECK, 3:30-5:30.

    *Cheering practice in GB


    ACTIVITIES FOR WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 18TH

    *9th Grade FCCLA Committee meeting in Mrs. Dahl's room at 11:15 (during Home Room) and an FCCLA Chapter meeting at 11:47.  Bring your lunch to the FACS Room.  All registration forms and dues are to be handed into Mrs. Dahl on or before this date.

    *All junior magazine money is due on Wednesday. Turn into Mrs. Anderson by 8:25 in the morning.

    *Football at RLCC (Oklee), 7:00.

    ACTIVITIES FOR THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18TH

    *The Drama Marathon Practice will take place on the stage in Greenbush.  Students need to arrive at 8:30 and should be ready to go on stage at 9:00 AM.  We will practice until 5:00!  We will be having a potluck lunch at 11:45.  

    What to bring for the potluck:

    Seniors:plates, silverware, cups, napkins

    Juniors/Sophomores: hot dish, lasagna, meatballs, etc.

    Freshmen:desserts or snacks for the afternoon break

    7th/8th grade: salads, sandwiches


    GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

    The fall Driver’s Ed class for 9th graders will be starting on Monday, October 23rd at 4:00.  A letter was sent out to parents informing them of which session (fall or spring) their student is in.  Books are available in the office - students need to read the 1st 3 chapters and do the 15 questions at the end of each chapter BEFORE they come to class on the 23rd.  YOU MAY PICK UP A BOOK WHEN YOU PAY THE FEE.


    ATTENTION GATOR WRESTLING FANS: The Gator Wrestling team is doing online orders for clothing this year.  Pick up forms outside of the office door if you’re interested.  DEADLINE to order is October 23rd.   GO GATORS!!


    The GMR FCCLA members are Yankee Candles and Gifts.  Please contact one of the members or Mrs. Laura Dahl to place your order.  The last school day to purchase will be on October 18!!!


    The GMR FCCLA will be sponsoring the Volley For A Cure fundraiser on Thursday, November 16 at 6:30 pm.  Members of the GMR Faculty and Staff will be playing the Gator JV and Varsity Volleyball teams!!!  A free will meal will be offered, 50/50, Silent Auction, concessions, and a great deal of entertainment!  Please come out to support our local FCCLA chapter!!


    School picture Retakes will be held in both MR and GB tomorrow, Tuesday, October 17th, starting in MR at 8:30 a.m. and GB at 9:30 a.m. If you missed the original picture day, please sign up in the office so we know we need to get you on Retake day.  (Retakes are subject to a $5.00 charge...if you didn’t like your shirt, smile, hair, etc).


    Lutheran Social Services Caregiver Support and Respite will be holding volunteer training in Thief River Falls on Thursday, October 19th at 9am and in Roseau on Thursday, October 26th at 5pm.  Please contact Monique Duray at 218-452-0181 or Monique.Duray@lssmn.org to register or for additional information.  We have families waiting for volunteers!  


    We are in need of elementary basketball coaches - if interested, please talk to Mrs. Sharon Schultz.


    Hazard notice for people who purchased from a Scholastic Book Fair -- Trolls: It's Hug Time book with a slap bracelet. The metal band may wear through the fabric covering of the bracelet, posing a laceration hazard. Photos of the book and bracelet are posted at school, or go to the manufacturer's website www.studiofun.com (click "product recall") or call 800-489-3402.


    SEND A BIG “THANK YOU!”

    What is “A Big Thank You?”  Every soldier deployed outside the United States deserves to receive a letter of gratitude on Thanksgiving Day.  We want to give them a “Big Thank You” with a little taste of home this Thanksgiving.


    Each letter should be heartfelt, handwritten, original, and FREE of any political statements.  The purpose is to express thanks to military personnel currently deployed outside the United States.  If your family or church wants to write a letter, please collect them and give them to Kianna Novacek, or drop off in the school office.  These letters are due to her by October 23rd at 3:00.


    SPECIFICATIONS:

    1)    All letters must be on 8.5” x 11” paper or smaller.

    2)    Please do not glue, tape, use staples, cardboard, glitter, or attach anything to paper.  You can decorate with crayons, pens, markers, etc.

    3)    NO construction paper.

    4)    Use both sides if you like, but use one page per letter only.

    5)    Please do not send greeting cards or photographs.

    6)    Feel free to include mailing or e-mail addresses - sometimes they write back!

    7)    Don’t send anything except letters!

    8)    We cannot accept donations of any kind!
