Brad Dahl6th Grade TeacherHead GBB CoachVolleyball OfficialSoftball/Baseball UmpireMy name is Brad Dahl and I teach 6th grade at Greenbush/Middle River. I'm originally from Annandale, MN, went to college at the University of Minnesota-Morris, and have been teaching in the GMR school district since 1998. I enjoy the challenges of teaching and love to see students develop academically and socially. The Mission of the Greenbush/Middle River School is to provide quality education which will prepare all students to meet success by developing self-directed thinkers who are productive, responsible, respectful, and accountable to themselves and others.Besides teaching, I am also a husband and dad. I'm married to Stacy and have three girls: Cassidy(19), McKenzie(16) and Lexie(14). Besides teaching 6th grade this year, I'm entering my ninth year as head girls basketball coach! In the spring, I umpire softball and baseball games. Summers are busy chasing the kids around at all their activities, along with some coaching. The fall brings volleyball and football, where I spend lots of gym/field time cheering on our Gators, and helping organize the Gator Football Tailgate meals. Needless to say, life is pretty busy...but I wouldn't change a thing! The Nuts and Bolts of 6th Grade:-Most subjects are covered in our room. Language Arts (which combines Reading, English, Writing, and Spelling), Social Studies, Science, and Math. 6th graders will also be taking an Elememtary Tech class with Mrs. Gust in the second semester this year, working on typing and basic computer/google skills!-We have end of chapter/unit assessments, along with weekly Words Their Way spelling tests. We also take part in the MCA tests in the spring.-My goals are almost always the same from year to year. I want to develop responsible students that understand learning is a life-long process that requires a lot of effort on their part. They need to be able to work independently and with others, solve the tasks at hand, stay focused and not let distractions interrupt them.
-I'm excited about teaching your child, and look forward to having a wonderful year!
