It's GO TIME!  The Gators are ready to bring it this fall!

2022 Practice Schedule:  Practice begins for grades 7-12 August 15 7-10 AM.  Once school is underway, always check with the school bulletin.

    Now Fall Calendar 2022

    Gator Rules:

    ·         All players must have a minimum of 8 practices to compete in a game.  Physical conditioning, basic fundamentals, rotation, game strategy is crucial.  Athletes need to be at practice to be observed by their coaches.

    ·         Unexcused absences won’t be tolerated.  It is the player’s responsibility to communicate with her coach about missing practice by either a note or call.  Coaches have the final say for what is excused and what isn’t.

    ·         Playing time is a privilege,  not a right.  Players are evaluated at each practice and competition.  Players need to communicate with their coaches about what they need to do individually to gain more court time.

     Housekeeping:

    ·         Physical examinations are needed every three years

.         Athletes should bring their own water bottle to practice and games every time.  Because gyms are quite steamy in the fall, it is important for athletes to stay hydrated.  Players must also purchase their own black spandex for games/tournaments and should wear appropriate practice clothing and court shoes.

    ·         All forms, fees, and physicals MUST be turned into the office before an athlete can participate in a game.  The fall sports meeting is a great time to take care of this.  The fall meeting is Tuesday, August 16 at 6:30 in the GMR gym.

    ·         Belly rings are illegal during play, so any piercings whether it is ears or anywhere else should be avoided before or during volleyball season.  Because it’s against Minnesota State High School League rules, we do not tape piercings; instead, they WILL come out during play in practice and games.

    ·         Athletes must be signed out at matches.  The sign out sheet will be circulating (check with team managers) and it is up to the parent to sign out their athlete.  Parents must complete a notorized transportation waiver.  If another parent or adult from your transportation list is to be responsible for your athlete, a note must be presented and signed by the office staff before the contest in order for coaches to let your child sign out with that adult.  If you fail to do this, there will be a consequence for your child.

    Calling All Managers:

    ·         If playing volleyball isn’t for you, please consider an alternative route to become part of the team.  This is a great way to get involved and is a valuable contribution to the team.

    ·         Contact one of the coaches right away as we’re looking for managers at ALL levels.
